The Greens – Reducing harm from drug and alcohol use

https://greens.org.au/act/reducing-harm-drugs-alcohol

The Greens want to create a safe, healthy and connected community, by ensuring people are not impacted by significant health, social, legal and economic harms associated with drugs. We want to ensure people can access the services and support they need for substance use, including legal substances such as tobacco and alcohol.

This means treating drug use as a health issue – not a criminal one. We will put more money in treatment and rehabilitation services, improve safety for young people, and seek legal reforms that will keep people out of the justice system.

The Greens Drug and Alcohol Harm Reduction Plan will:

  1. Reduce the harm from drug use
  2. Increase supports for people with drug dependency issues
  3. Support and enhance medicinal drug use
